Abstract: Ferris Magazine is the alumni newsmagazine published seasonally by the alumni office. This publication provides alumni stories, including class notes, columns by current Ferris administrators and stories about campus. The collection contains a complete run of the publication from 2009- .

The alumni magazine in fall 2009 switched the name of the magazine style alumni publication. The first issue focused on the celebrations of the 125th anniversary of the school. It was redesigned as a result of comments from alumni subscribers to the previous
The paper style changed, and the paper format was slightly larger. It remains in full color with several photographs. Topics include alumni activities, board activities and the result of fundraising by the alumni office. and Information about alumni. Articles are written by communications office staff and administrators.
This publication serves to communicate about Ferris activities to the alumni. Such activities include both the campus and its current students and the alumni scattered all over the world. Its newsmagazine format focuses on readability and strong graphic design that will catch the eyes of the alumni. This magazine is a benefit of being a member of the Alumni Association or as a staff member of Ferris State University.

This collection was donated to the University Archives by transfer of each new issue.
The Ferris Magazine Records were processed to the folder level by Melinda McMartin Isler in December 2010. A finding aid was converted to EAD 2.0, utilizing the Archivists Toolkit. A collection level MARC-format record was prepared and placed in the library online public access catalog. Description was based on Describing Archives: A Content Standard (Chicago: Society of American Archivists, 2004).

The Ferris Magazine publication is a collection of up to three copies of each issue. The only series consists of loose paper copies of the serial publication. They have been foldered and housed in acid-neutral boxes. This collection does not contain any materials other than the final publication
