Registration as a Pharmacist

State and Federal laws regulate the practice of pharmacy as a profession. Michigan laws are administered by the Michigan Board of Pharmacy. Requirements for licensure as a pharmacist include:

• Graduation from an ACPE accredited college of pharmacy
• Pass a criminal background check
• Completion of 1600 internship hours (which is less than what is earned within the Pharm.D. curriculum)
• Pass the North American Pharmacist Licensure Exam (NAPLEX)
