College graduates should be able to analyze the writing situation, identify needed
information, and locate the appropriate information for their writing; specifically,
they should be able to:
- analyze their own experience to provide ideas for their writing
- create ideas for their writing
- analyze the context of the writing problem
- retrieve material from various sources
- analyze the moral or ethical implications of their subject
- recognize primary and secondary sources of information available in their field and
know how to read them
- assess and evaluate information
- use secondary sources available within their discipline appropriately
- analyze and interpret primary data in an appropriate form
- document primary and secondary sources appropriately.
