MCO Welcomes Two New Faculty

MCO is pleased to welcome two new faculty members with impressive backgrounds and many years of experience in patient care. Dr. Keith Moulds will be working with students in the areas of primary care and procedures, as well as sharing his many years of private practice ownership experience. Dr. Eric Syverson comes to us from Colorado. His many years of medical optometry practice will be a great asset to instructing students in various areas including ocular disease courses and clinical service, environmental vision and primary care.

Here are their brief biographies.

Dr. Keith Moulds

Dr. Keith Moulds


Keith Moulds is a 1999 graduate of the Michigan College of Optometry at Ferris State University.  After working in several practice types after graduation he started his own private practice in Comstock Park, MI in 2002.

With help from several practice consulting firms Dr. Moulds has spent his career refining the eyecare experience to deliver a comprehensive yet efficient experience for his patients.

Along with his private practice he has taken the role of Associate Professor at his alma matter and will be teaching Practice Management and Optometry Procedures to all levels of students at MCO.

He and his wife have resided in Rockford, MI since 2000. He dedicates his spare time to his family and staying active outdoors including boating, fishing, hunting, and triathlons. 

 

Dr. Eric Syverson

Education:

  • BS, Miami University, Zoology 
     

Biography:

Dr. Syverson completed his optometry education at Indiana University and pursued his residency in Ocular Disease at the Cincinnati Eye Institute. While in residency Dr. Syverson gained experience in various ophthalmology clinics including Neuro-Ophthalmology, Vitreo-Retinal, Cornea, Cataract & Refractive Surgery, Glaucoma, Urgent Care and Iritis. Dr. Syverson has also completed a master's degree in biomedical science at Grand Valley State University. He is also a fellow of the American Academy of Optometry.

Dr. Syverson volunteers with Fishing The Good Fight, Project Healing Waters Fly Fishing, BreckF3T, Reid VanGelderen Memorial and Scholarship, and has coached lacrosse at various levels.
