Ferris State men’s basketball players Erickson, Hazelton, and Claerbaut earn GLIAC honors

BIG RAPIDS, Mich. — 

Three Ferris State University men's basketball student-athletes were named to the 2024-25 All-Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference squad in recognition of their outstanding performances.

The awards were unveiled prior to this weekend's GLIAC Tournament Semifinals and Finals slated to be held in Houghton. Head coaches from conference member institutions voted on this year's honorees.

Senior guard Ethan Erickson, a Business Administration major from Grand Rapids, was named to the All-GLIAC First Team for the second year in a row. Senior forward Reece Hazelton, a Master of Business Administration major from Glen Lake, earned All-GLIAC Second Team recognition.

Junior center Nathan Claerbaut, a Management major from Zeeland, claimed GLIAC All-Defensive Team accolades.

Both Hazelton and Claerbaut garnered All-GLIAC honors for the first time in their collegiate careers while Erickson attained all-conference laurels for the third consecutive season.

Ten players were named to the All-GLIAC First Team with 10 more on the All-GLIAC Second Team and 10 earning GLIAC All-Defensive Team accolades.

The Bulldogs, who are now 25-7 this year, will face Lake Superior State in the GLIAC Tournament Semifinals on Saturday, March 8, in Houghton at 2:30 p.m. The title game is on Sunday, March 9 at 2 p.m.
