BIG RAPIDS, Mich. —

Ferris State Hockey junior forward Caiden Gault was selected as the Central Collegiate Hockey Association's Forward of the Week after pacing the league with four points and three goals in the Bulldogs’ final regular season series against Northern Michigan University.

Gault, a native of Oakbank, Manitoba, is amidst a career-best season, leading the Bulldogs and tied for second in the CCHA with 14 goals. The Business major is second on the team with 23 points, following Cole Burtch’s 25 points.

Gault's weekend began with his first career multi-goal game Friday, Feb. 28. He scored Ferris State’s final two goals as the Bulldogs rolled to a decisive 5-1 win. In the Saturday March 1 game, he evened the score with a power play strike in period two and then assisted on Kaleb Ergang's extra attacker goal late in regulation.

Gault recorded his fifth and sixth multi-point games of the season while finishing plus-2 in the series and leading Ferris State with nine shots on goal. It was the first time in his career finishing with back-to-back multi-point efforts, and he has an active three-game point streak heading into the playoffs.

The CCHA Forward of the Week award was Gault's first of his career, and the first time a Bulldog skater was named Forward of the Week this season.

Gault and the Bulldogs took four points in the series against Northern Michigan, finishing sixth place in the CCHA.
