FLINT, Mich. —

Rachel Reeves Thelemaque is bringing her skills helping students access a transformative education to Ferris State University and it’s Flint Student Success Hub.

Ferris State is hosting a community open house to welcome Thelemaque and share how the Student Success Hub can help students of all ages. The event is planned for 5 to 7 p.m. on March 19 at Mott Community College’s University Center in room 1008 of the Mott Memorial Building, 1401 E. Court Street.

“The Ferris State Flint hub exists to expand access to educational opportunities in Flint and the Great Lakes Bay Region — but access alone isn't enough,” Thelemaque said. “My vision is for this hub to become a vital connector between the community and life-changing opportunities — where people not only discover what's possible but feel supported in every step toward achieving their goals. I'm most excited to shine a light on the many phenomenal programs Ferris State offers and to be a partner in helping this community thrive.”

The Student Success Hub is intended to help students earn their degree faster and more affordably through a partnership with Mott Community College.

Hub Services include application help, financial advising, program advising, registration help, and career advising.

Thelemaque, a Flint native, has dedicated her career to fostering student success and organizational excellence.

She specializes in student recruitment, enrollment growth, strategic planning, and community engagement.

Thelemaque most recently served in the Mott Admissions Office, leading student recruitment efforts across multiple school districts, creating innovative outreach programs, and collaborating on marketing and enrollment strategies.

Her experience includes roles in admissions, student success, and faculty leadership in Michigan, Georgia, and Florida.

She earned her Associate of Arts from Mott, a Bachelor of Arts degree in History from Saginaw Valley State University, and both a Graduate Certificate in International Administration and Master of Science Administration in Leadership from Central Michigan University.

Ferris State has Student Success Hubs in Grand Rapids, Kalamazoo, Traverse City, and Detroit in addition to Flint.
