Ferris State University alumna Laura Frick has become the first female PGA of America member to serve as championship director for one of the Association’s Spectator Championships.
PGA of America announced Frick would be director of the 2026 KPMG Women’s PGA Championship, scheduled for next June at Hazeltine National Golf Club in Chaska, Minnesota.
Frick, a PGA Golf Management Class of 2015 graduate, will oversee all onsite operations and direct efforts to uphold the Championship’s standing as a premier event in women’s golf.
“We are incredibly excited to have Laura leading our efforts for the 2026 KPMG Women’s PGA Championship,” said PGA of America Senior Director of Championships David Charles. “Laura’s dynamic leadership and extensive experience make her an ideal fit for this role. Her strategic insight and passion for championship management will help us stage an outstanding event in 2026.”
Now in her eighth year with the PGA of America, Frick most recently served as Director of Competitions since December 2021. She led the 13u and 17u National Car Rental PGA Jr. League Championships, which offer a fun, social and inclusive opportunity for boys and girls to compete on a national stage.
Frick also managed the National Collegiate Club Golf Association and PGA Family Golf programs, working closely with the more than 30,000 PGA of America Golf Professionals nationwide to engage golfers in their local communities.
“I am truly honored and excited to take on this role with the KPMG Women’s PGA Championship,” Frick said in a PGA release. “This Championship continues to showcase the best women players in the world competing at elite major championship venues all while elevating and empowering women on and off the golf course. I look forward to collaborating with our partners at KPMG and the LPGA as well as the Club and local community leaders as we prepare for an incredible championship in 2026.”
Frick, a Hudsonville native, previously held positions within the PGA of America’s Player Engagement and Member Championships departments.
The 2025 KPMG Women’s PGA Championship will take place from June 19-22 at Fields Ranch East at PGA Frisco, making its first appearance in Texas in the event’s 70-year history.
