Ferris State basketball player Mia Riley earns GLIAC Offensive Player of the Week honors

Ferris State University women's basketball guard Mia Riley has been tabbed as this week's Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Offensive Player of the Week.
Riley, an Optometry major from Fowler, had an outstanding weekend for the Bulldogs as FSU earned a league road sweep with victories at Parkside and Purdue Northwest.
The Bulldog junior poured in a team-high 40 points on the weekend to go with 15 rebounds, seven assists and three steals while shooting an impressive 67 percent from the floor and 55 percent from behind the three-point line.
She notched a team-leading 21 points with a squad-best eight rebounds, two steals and an assist in Thursday's 75-69 win over the Rangers before coming back with 19 points, seven boards, six assists and a steal on Saturday in a dominating 95-70 win at Purdue Northwest when Ferris State was forced to play short-handed due to injuries.
For the weekend, Riley averaged 20 points, 7.5 rebounds and 3.5 assists as Ferris State improved to 13-4 overall and took over sole possession of second place in the league standings.
Ferris State will host Northern Michigan on Thursday, Jan. 23 starting at 5:30 p.m. inside Jim Wink Arena before entertaining Michigan Tech on Saturday, Jan. 25 beginning at 1 p.m. in Big Rapids.
