FanDuel Network Detroit sports broadcaster Johnny Kane to highlight Ferris State Sports Speakers Series on Feb. 27

FanDuel Sports Network announcer Johnny Kane is energetic and passionate about his career as a widely known sports broadcaster – and will bring that enthusiasm to Ferris State University to inspire students preparing for careers in the sports industry.
Kane, who started his career with Fox Sports Detroit, then Bally Sports and now works for the FanDuel Sports Network covering the Detroit Pistons and Detroit Tigers, will visit campus on Thursday, Feb. 27 from 3 to 4:30 p.m. in room 202A of the David L. Eisler Center, 805 Campus Drive.
Admission is free, and this event is open to the public.
Kane, who landed in Detroit in 2015 with a background in local television and a passion for storytelling, will share stories from his path to becoming a popular sports media figure in Detroit. He helped bring to life the inspiring 2024 Detroit Tigers’ playoff push and has been sharing this year’s resurgence of the Detroit Pistons, who have made a dramatic improvement on the basketball hardwood.
The Sports Communication program and the Sports Professionals RSO host the Sports Speakers Series. Jen Coburn, from the Department of Humanities, credited the students for using connections to help arrange Kane’s visit to campus.
