BIG RAPIDS, Mich. —

Ferris State University’s College of Business is naming its state-of-the-art print production learning laboratory the “Ann Arbor Graphic Arts Memorial Foundation Print Production Laboratory,” honoring the organization’s support for students.

The Ann Arbor Graphic Arts Memorial Foundation was created in 1981 by concerned leaders in the Michigan print industry, primarily in the Ann Arbor area, to establish a non-profit foundation to develop and dispense scholarship grants to talented young people interested in a career in the printing industry.

More than 195 contributors provided funding to endow more than 500 four-year scholarships to student earning degrees in Graphic Media Management.

The AAGAMF in 2023 transferred its entire investment holdings to the Ferris State University Foundation to continue administering scholarship money to deserving print students.

Students admitted to or enrolled in either the AAS degree in Graphic Communications, or the BS degree in Graphic Media Management at Ferris State may apply to this and several other scholarships specific to the printing industry. The AAGAMF scholarship has more than $2 million invested to support print majors.

The printing industry plays an important role in the global, national and Michigan economy. Every box, bag, brochure, billboard seen takes a team of highly trained professionals to create, manufacture and distribute.

Ferris State Graphic Media Management students are learning to develop automated workflows integrating Artificial Intelligence to print media industry. High-demand careers include sales, project management, workflow engineering, production, and operations management.
