Ferris State hockey freshmen Martin Lundberg and Chris Lie chosen to represent Team Norway at 2025 IIHF World Championships

Ferris State hockey freshmen Martin Lundberg and Christopher Lie will represent Norway's U20 squad at the 2025 IIHF World Championship in Slovenia beginning Dec. 9.
The 2025 International Ice Hockey Federation U20 World Championship Division I, Group A tournament runs Dec. 9 to 5 and includes Norway, Slovenia, France, Hungary, Austria and Denmark. Lie and Lundberg's first game is Dec. 9 as Team Norway will face Team Slovenia at 1:30 p.m.
A total of 25 players make up Norway's roster including three goaltenders, eight defensemen and 14 forwards. Lie and Lundberg are the only two members of the team who are currently competing in the NCAA.
Both Bulldog freshmen previously represented Team Norway at the 2024 IIHF World Junior Championship as well. Lie played in all five games for Team Norway while Lundberg saw relief action in Norway's game against Slovakia.
Lie, a native of Hamar, Norway, has appeared in six games this season for Ferris State. He registered his first career point with an assist against Augustana Nov. 22.
Lundberg hails from Furuberget, Norway and made his collegiate debut against St. Lawrence earlier this season.
While Lie and Lundberg are competing in Slovenia, the Bulldogs will play two games at Northern Michigan Dec. 6 and 7. Ferris State is then set to compete in the Kwik Trip Holiday Faceoff Tournament Dec. 28 and 29 at Fiserv Forum in Milwaukee.
