Biography

Amy Dorey is an Associate Professor in the College of Business at Ferris State University, combining her extensive background in high-profile event management with a commitment to experiential learning for students. Since joining Ferris State, Amy has brought her passion for the effective design and delivery of exceptional guest experiences to campus. Her work in complex guest services operations for internationally renowned events like the X Games and Lollapalooza enriches her teaching, as she integrates these real-world insights into hands-on applications that bring course concepts to life.

Amy holds the prestigious Certified Meeting Professional credential from the Events Industry Council and is currently completing her Digital Event Strategy certification with the Professional Convention Management Association. Her recent sabbatical focused on the intersection of technology and event management, with a specialization in AI applications for the meetings and event industry. Amy’s dedication to the creative development of student experiences ensures her graduates are equipped with practical, transferable skills to thrive in the dynamic fields of hospitality and event management.
