Colleen Green is the Senior DEIB Officer at Ferris State University. Previous, she
was the Director of the Office of Indigenous Affairs and the Student Transition Enrichment
Program at Central Michigan University. Over the past 15 years Ms. Green has had to
opportunity to create events, programs, workshops for the campus and local community
such as the North American Indigenous Summer Enrichment Camp and the CMU Annual Pow
wow. In addition, she is a guest speaker for various courses on campus ranging from
Journalism to Recreation, Parks, & Leisure.
She has also worked with transfer students from partnering community colleges to provide support and guidance, through the KCP MiCUP Initiative. Colleen advised the North American Indigenous Student Organization, Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated Sigma Kappa Chapter, Student National Medical Association Minority Association of Pre-Medical Students, and Native Americans in Medicine Student Interest Group in the College of Medicine on the campus of Central Michigan University. Ms. Green serviced on the Denison Committee, Mount Pleasant Indian Industrial Boarding School Committee, Board of Regents for the Saginaw Chippewa Tribal College, and various planning committees to create awareness of issues faced by Native American peoples. She is an enrolled citizen of the Little River Band of Ottawa Indians and a descendent of the Grand Traverse Band of Ottawa and Chippewa Indians.
