The Rock Café incorporates a marketplace concept, also referred to as a Marché or food emporium, in order to bring a new generation in student dining. The marketplace concept provides an integrated food production and dining experience with an emphasis on fresh ingredients and made-to-order preparation. It is characterized by exhibition cooking at several distinct food platforms. The majority of the existing back-of-the-house production has been transformed into several self-contained display cooking venues, which can be seen while exploring the dining area.
We have chosen a European style decor to compliment the marketplace concept. You will experience an abundance of delightful aromas, vibrant product freshness and food that will make your taste buds go wild, all for a sense heightening experience at meal times. We strive to keep satisfaction by emphasizing a positive display of food merchandising while maintaining a casual café style seating arrangement, for your dining pleasure.
We know that proper nutrition is the staple in a successful person. With the busy class schedules and endless hours of homework, studying and out-of-class activities, it becomes difficult for students to focus on preparing and eating their own meals. We also recognize that students today want an element of entertainment with their dining experience, a concept we call "eatertainment." Our facility offers this as food becomes the star and our staff is on stage. This is what The Rock Café offers for Today's students.
The Rock Café is open to the general public, as well as the student population. Methods of payment accepted include: Platinum, Silver, Gold, Bronze meal plans; guest meal passes; Bulldog Bucks, Express Meal Plan, cash or credit cards.
The Rock Café is now offering a Hispanic Cuisine station serving favorites like tacos and nachos during lunch from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Monday through Friday.
