Textbook Advance for Students with Financial Aid

Students who have registered for semester courses and DO NOT HAVE A PREVIOUS BALANCE OWED to Barnes & Noble may charge up to $400.00 in books and necessary supplies to their student account during the appropriate dates. Any bookstore charge balance must be paid by the end of the semester to charge again the next semester. Complete information regarding Direct Pay charges is posted on Ferris' Student Financial Services web pages. Please provide your student ID number in the payment section during check-out to indicate you wish to use Direct Pay. If your textbooks total over $400, please provide debit/credit card information as well as your ID number: the first $400 will be charged to your student account, and the remainder will be charged on the debit/credit card.

Third Party Bookstore Charges

Students who have a third party paying for their semester books may charge at the bookstore with their Student ID card during the appropriate dates. In addition to placing your textbook order online following the instructions listed under direct pay charges, please e-mail the bookstore with your name and order number, and indicate that you are a third party student; this will ensure your books are properly charged. If the bookstore is not properly notified, tax and other charges may become the student's responsibility.

Starting a Huntington Student Access Account (HSAC)

You may open your HSAC at any Huntington Bank Office or by calling 1-800-480-BANK (2265). To be eligible for this account, you must be a student actively enrolled at Ferris with a student ID. You will need to provide the number on your student ID in order for the Student Access Account to be set up. It will be the long number on your ID that begins with 5006.

An HSAC account provides many benefits to both on- and off-campus students. In addition to having direct access to financial aid funds, you'll have the ability to make point-of-sale purchases at off-campus merchants, such as Wal-Mart, Meijer, Walgreens and many others. Also, you'll have access to your money through thousands of ATMs across the nation that display the MAC, MoneyStation and CIRRUS logos.

Textbook Buy-Back

If you are interested in selling your textbooks back at the end of the semester, go to the bookstore website and send a feedback message with the textbook information, including ISBN number of the books you wish to sell back. The bookstore staff will look the books up and send you a quote of what they can pay. Then you can then decide what books you want to ship to in for buy-back.  When the books are received the bookstore staff will complete the buyback and send you a money order.
