Transferring Credits

MACRAO: Michigan Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers

MACRAO is a process for transferring general education credits from state community colleges. Transcripts that have the MACRAO stamp show that lower-division general education requirements have been met. If you have the MACRAO stamp, an associate degree, or both, you need only complete the upper-level general education coursework. Your advisor will review your transcripts and guide you in selecting your courses so that you will not have to retake courses that you already completed.

MTA: Michigan Transfer Agreement

Ferris participates in the Michigan Transfer Agreement (MTA) and is both a sending and receiving institution. This agreement facilitates the transfer of general education requirements from one Michigan institution to another. Students may complete the MTA as part of a degree program or as a stand-alone package. The MTA consists of a minimum of 30 general education credit hours as identified by the college or university.

Learn more on the Transfer Services Center's MTA page.

Our University is an ideal institution for students who want to complete or further their education. Ferris partners with many community colleges to offer programs that allow students to take both Ferris and community college courses to complete a degree.
