Mission:
Lansing Ophthalmology eye care center is dedicated to maintaining and enhancing the quality of life for our patients through state of the art eye care services.
To support the mission of Michigan State University and the success of its students by enhancing personal health, removing barriers to academic achievement and promoting a healthy learning environment.
Clinic Center: The MSU Clinical Center is the principal practice site for faculty and resident ambulatory primary care and outpatient consulting services. The facility is designed solely for the delivery of ambulatory care and offers a variety of health services including resident outpatient clinics, general medicine faculty clinics, subspecialty clinics, onsite physical therapy, and laboratory and radiological services including magnetic resonance imaging. The Clinical Center houses an onsite pharmacy, nurse practictioner offices, conference rooms, a computer learning lab, and state-of-the-art EMR with wireless Internet access throughout the facility.

Orientation Instructions:
You should contact Dr. Comparoni 6 weeks prior to the beginning of your rotation to verify dates, times, directions, parking, and any other instructions. Report to the above address at 8:00 the first day of the rotation for orientation to policies, clinical protocol, administrative procedures, etc. Completion of Hepatitis B series is required (unless waiver is signed) and annual TB testing must be completed. BE CERTAIN TO TAKE YOUR CURRENT CPR CRD, TB TEST RESTULTS CARD, AND HEP B (OR WAIVER FORM) TO EACH OF YOUR ROTATION SITES.

Time is set aside for clinic/case discussion
Socratic method of teaching used at Clinical Center: Daily Grand Rounds type discussions of all cases by optometry interns, medical students and ophthalmology residents.
Opportunity to observe ophthalmic surgeries and assist in subspecialties in Lansing Ophthalmology Main office.
Student intern rotates through the Clinical Center two days per week, Lansing Ophthalmology Sparrow Office two days per week and 1 day per week at Lansing Ophthalmology Main Office.
