FSU HOCKEY SENIORS TO BE HONORED IN REGULAR-SEASON HOME FINALE

Five Bulldog Skaters To Be Recognized Prior To Feb. 27th Contest

Five senior student-athletes members of the 2008-09 Ferris State University men's ice hockey team will be honored in a pre-game ceremony on Friday (Feb. 27) prior to the Bulldogs' Central Collegiate Hockey Association (CCHA) matchup versus the Michigan Wolverines in Big Rapids, Mich.

Opening faceoff for the contest is scheduled for 7:05 p.m. (EST) at FSU's Ewigleben Ice Arena. The game represents the Bulldogs' regular-season home finale for the 2008-09 campaign.

Prior to the tilt, the Ferris State hockey program will pay tribute to its five seniors -- defenseman Evan Case (Grosse Pointe Woods), left wing Brendan Connolly (Canmore, Alberta), right wing Corey Couturier (Traverse City), right wing J.T. Dahlinger (Grosse Pointe Park), and right wing Justin Lewandowski (Naperville, Ill.).

Evan Case has registered six points on one goal and five assists in 34 appearances this season. In his career, Case has produced 17 points with four goals and 13 assists to go with a plus 15 efficiency rating in 105 contests. The 6-0, 175-pound blueliner was selected as the 2006-07 team's recipient of the Steve Banonis Most Improved Player Award and the Plus/Minus Award.

Brendan Connolly has chalked up a team-leading and career single-season high 25 points on eight goals and 17 assists in 31 outings this campaign. For his career, the 5-8, 168-pound forward has netted 33 goals with 45 assists for 78 points and a plus five efficiency rating in 143 appearances. He was chosen as the CCHA's Offensive Player of the Week earlier this season (Feb. 2).

A 6-0, 183-pound forward, Corey Couturier is midst his best offensive campaign this season with a career-high 16 points on seven goals and nine assists in 34 encounters. In 116 career matchups to date, Couturier has recorded 50 points as resultof 23 lamplighters and 27 helpers while accumulating a plus three efficiency rating.

J.T. Dahlinger, a 6-1, 191-pound forward, has appeared in 12 games this season but hasn't notched a point to date. Dahlinger has competed in 85 matchups during his career while tallying four goals with nine assists for 13 points.

The Bulldogs' fifth senior, Justin Lewandowski has compiled 15 points with eight goals and seven assists in 32 contests this season. In 108 career games, the 5-9, 175-pound skater has amassed 40 points on 22 goals with 18 helpers while posting a plus seven efficiency rating. Lewandowski was honored as the 2007-08 team's co-winner of the Steve Banonis Most Improved Player Award.
