The Central Collegiate Hockey Association (CCHA) and FSN Detroit held a free 'Have Fun, Play Hockey' Clinic this past Saturday (Jan. 5) at FSU's Ewigleben Ice Arena in Big Rapids, Mich.

The event, which was attended by 34 kids, involved members of the 2007-08 Ferris State University men's ice hockey team along with the Bulldog coaching staff instructing the kids on the fundamentals of the sport.

Coordinating the event was Tim Blashill, the program director for the Big Rapids (Mich.) Junior Hockey Association and head coach of the Big Rapids Varsity Boys' Ice Hockey Team, along with Courtney Welch, CCHA Communications Manager.

The clinic, which was open to all boys and girls ages 5-11, afforded kids an opportunity to learn to play ice hockey for free in CCHA member school locations as well as local arenas throughout the state of Michigan between December and February as part of Hockey Day in Michigan celebration.
