FSN Detroit

The 2006-07 Ferris State University men's ice hockey team will receive regional television exposure twice within a five-day period as the Bulldogs are scheduled to make an appearance on FSN Detroit, starting this Friday (Feb. 9) evening on the road and again next Tuesday (Feb. 13) night from FSU's Ewigleben Ice Arena in Big Rapids, Mich.

Ferris State will faceoff against the nationally-ranked Michigan State Spartans in both February outings of a Central Collegiate Hockey Association (CCHA) home-and-home series. The Bulldogs, who are 9-18-3 overall and 6-14-2 in the CCHA, will travel to East Lansing, Mich., this Friday (Feb. 9) in a 7:35 p.m. (EST) matchup versus the Spartans before returning home next Tuesday (Feb. 13) to host MSU in the series finale. Opening faceoff for the game has been moved to 7:35 p.m. (EST) from the original 7:05 p.m. (EST) starting time to accomodate the FSN Detroit telecast.

FSN Detroit will be showcasing a Ferris State hockey home game for the second consecutive season with next Tuesday's (Feb. 13) live telecast from the Ewigleben Ice Arena.

This Friday's (Feb. 9) FSN Detroit CCHA contest will be called by Ken Daniels with Fred Pletsch serving as color analyst. Shireen Saski will be the rinkside reporter for both CCHA games. Pletsch will be the play-by-play announcer for next Tuesday's (Feb. 13) game at Ferris State and will be joined by analyst Lyle Phair.

The regular-season appearance of FSN Detroit on the Ferris State campus next Tuesday (Feb. 13) will mark the first in over 20 years and represents the second straight season in which the regional sports network will televise a Bulldog hockey game live from the Ewigleben Ice Arena. Ferris State appeared last season (March 3) at home on FSN Detroit in the opening game of its 2006 CCHA Tournament First-Round series versus the Ohio State Buckeyes which resulted in a 3-0 victory. Prior to that contest, the last time Ewigleben Ice Arena hosted a live telecast was Oct. 17, 1986, when the Bulldogs and (then) defending national champion Michigan State faced off on the defunct PASS (Pro Am Sports System) Sports.

FSN Detroit is celebrating its 10th year of televising CCHA hockey this season. Telecasts of CCHA games are part of the more than 250 live local events presented each year by FSN Detroit that reach more than 3.2 million cable and satellite households throughout Michigan and portions of Northwest Ohio and Northern Indiana.

The Bulldog hockey program will also be periodically highlighted on CCHA All-Access, a half-hour weekly FSN Detroit show which will run 10 consecutive weeks through the conclusion of the current CCHA season. The new program will feature behind the scenes footage of the CCHA-member institutions and will air each week beginning on Fridays at 2:30 p.m. (EST).
