The Community of Women in Cybersecurity Grows

April 1, 2016

While cybersecurity is a growing industry, only 11 percent of workers in the field globally are women. Women in the cybersecurity program here at Ferris are ready to change that statistic.

Professor Hwee-Joo Kam has created Women in Cybersecurity, a community for women involved in the Ferris cybersecurity program, to highlight and respond to the need for diversity in the workforce. Women in Cybersecurity offers opportunities for connection and support.

The cybersecurity industry will continue to grow, meaning more jobs available to college graduates. This group offers additional insight into not only technical aspects, but also navigating social and cultural issues in the field.

For more information about the cybersecurity program, contact Assistant Professor Jason Otting or check out the Facebook page for the Women in Cybersecurity group.
