  • Sports Marketing Student Learns 'The Ripken Way' During Internship

    July 23rd, 2013Sports Marketing senior Chelsea Konarzewski landed an internship with The Ripken Experience in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. The Ripken Experience, founded by former Major League baseball players Cal Ripken Sr., Cal Ripken Jr. and Bill Ripken, hosts youth baseball camps and tournaments, as well as training programs for high school and college baseball and softball teams. Some of Chelsea’s responsibilities include assisting players at camp check-in, coordinate opening rituals, and compile player welcome packets and gift bags.   • Sports Marketing Student Interns In North Carolina

    July 9th, 2013This summer, Sports Marketing major Courtney Meharg, takes her skills to the East coast for an internship. Interning for the Carolina RailHawks in Cary, North Carolina, Courtney’s responsibilities include being a part of the Community Marketing and Outreach Assistance, where she researches and sets up soccer events and tournaments that the RailHawks can attend. The RailHawks are an American professional soccer team that was founded in 2006.   • Ferris AMA Ranks Top 16 Chapters in the World

    June 20th, 2013  This past spring, Ferris American Marketing Association (AMA) students attend the 35th Annual International Collegiate Conference in New Orleans. For the past three years in a row, Ferris AMA students have secured a spot in the top 16 chapters out of 350 in the world and this year they have been awarded a bronze chapter award. Aside from ranking top 16, they have also been awarded 1st in SABRE Business Simulation World, 1st in Exhibit Booth Chapter Competition, 2nd in Marketing Strategy Competition, and Honorable Mention Marketing Week.     January 30th, 2012Graduate of the 2011 Sports Marketing program, and former president of Ferris State's chapter of the American Marketing Association (AMA), Eric Cole continues to shine as he pursues his career with the Indiana Pacers. Cole landed his career with the Pacers after attending a Detroit Pistons job fair during his senior year at Ferris. He was hired as an Inside Sales Accounting Executive and was promoted six months later to a Group Events Specialist. Cole’s main duty as a Group Events Specialist is to bring different groups and organizations to a Pacer basketball game.
