Program Champion Attends Harvard Training Programs
February 26th, 2013Health Care Marketing program champion Dr. Clay S. Dedeaux recently attended two programs led by the Harvard School of Public Health in Boston, MA. The most recent training was the "Teaching by the Case Study Method: Principles and Practices for Health Educators" program held from January 25-27. This 2.5 day program introduced instructors in public health disciplines to case discussion leadership skills and attitudes. Participants engaged in active case discussions about the principles of case teaching and their applicability to the field of public health. This introductory workshop emphasized the roles, responsibilities, and skills of the discussion leader, the teacher-student relationship, developing the teaching plan, and an introduction to case-writing and case-based curriculum development in public health.
