Program Champion Attends Harvard Training Programs
Healthcare Marketing program champion Dr. Clay S. Dedeaux recently attended two programs led by the Harvard School of Public Health in Boston, MA.
The most recent training was the "Teaching by the Case Study Method: Principles and Practices for Health Educators" program held from January 25-27. This 2.5 day program introduced instructors in public health disciplines to case discussion leadership skills and attitudes. Participants engaged in active case discussions about the principles of case teaching and their applicability to the field of public health. This introductory workshop emphasized the roles, responsibilities, and skills of the discussion leader, the teacher-student relationship, developing the teaching plan, and an introduction to case-writing and case-based curriculum development in public health.
Dr. Dedeaux also participated at Harvard School of Public Health's "Forces of Change: New Strategies for the Evolving Health Care Marketplace" from September 10-13. Medical professionals, including physicians, administrators and educators from around the world explored current issues which surround organizational change. They also learned systematic methods for identifying target constituencies, and applied approaches to maximize positive acceptance and minimize resistance for the benefit of patients.
