Professional activities and areas of interest

Dr. Gilley teaches management courses, including Team Dynamics and the senior capstone, Integrating Experience.  She spent fourteen years working in a variety of managerial capacities for financial and insurance institutions. Dr. Gilley is author or co-author of fifteen books, including The Praeger Handbook of HRM, The Manager as Change Leader, The Performance Challenge, Beyond the Learning Organization, and Organizational Learning, Performance, and Change, recipient of the Academy of Human Resource Development book-of-the-year award in 2000. Her research and writing interests explore change, the organizational immune system, and managerial malpractice. She is a member of the Academy of Management, the Southern Management Association, and the Midwest Academy of Management.  Dr. Gilley enjoys mentoring students as they prepare for the challenges of the workplace.
