The Ferris State PGM Alumni Bill Strausbaugh Award for the Advancement of Teaching

The Ferris State PGM Alumni Bill Strausbaugh Award is a special recognition given to a PGM Alumni who has performed outstanding service as a golf instructor.  The award was established in 1996 sponsored by Dr. Robert Ewigleben.

Criteria:

  • Ferris State University graduate.
  • PGA Member.
  • Promotion of Golf.
  • Leadership Ability.
  • Image and ability to inspire fellow professionals.
  • Performance as a golf professional at his/her facility.
  • Effective teaching techniques, group or individual.
  • Promotion and involvement of junior golf activities.

The award amount is $500 which was established by Dr. Ewigleben as part of his endowment.  Nominations are made by fellow FSU/PGM graduates.  The award is decided by the PGMAA Board of Directors.  The award is presented at the PGM Alumni reception during the PGA Merchandise Show in Orlando, Florida.
