ihms logoEta Sigma Delta

Eta Sigma Delta is the international honor society that recognizes academic excellence of hospitality management students. Eta Sigma Delta is part of the Council of Hotel, Restaurant Institutional Educators (CHRIE). Students in the academic top 20% of the school are invited to join this prestigious society. The members engage in community service activities, tutoring for hospitality management students, social activities, and professional service to the hospitality industry.

Professional Convention Management Association

Professional Convention Management Association is an international association of meeting industry professionals dedicated to promoting the value of convention management. The FSU Student Chapter is a group of students interested in pursuing careers in this dynamic field. The mission for this organization is to familiarize its members with the basic aspects of the meetings and conventions field through educational and networking opportunities supported or developed by the Professional Convention Management Association and its members. Through fundraising partnerships, members are provided hands-on experiences related to planning and executing meetings and events. Community service activities and chapter educational events provide important development of networking skills. Meetings are held on the second and fourth Tuesday of every month.

nsmhNational Society of Minorities in Hospitality

NSMH is a student-run organization that promotes diversity and multiculturalism, as well as the career development of their student members. Minority status is not a requirement for membership. Anyone of any ethnicity, gender, or other demographic group can find value in their conversations. NSMH provides events and programs that bring together college-level students with company sponsors, industry representatives, other hospitality organizations, advisors and mentors, and hospitality high school students.

Scholarships are available for active members.

National Association of Catering Executives (NACE)

NACE’s mission is to provide catering and event professionals with a superior education, networking, and the resources needed to enhance career success and deliver excellence to their clients. Membership in the Chapter is composed of individuals in the catering, events and hospitality industries who agree to comply with NACE’s Code of Ethics.

Professional Convention Management Association (PCMA)

This Ferris State University Chapter of the Professional Convention Management Association (PCMA) strives to promote learning and growth to students who are interested in the event, meeting, or convention planning aspects of the business world. Its mission is to deliver superior and innovative education and promote the value of professional convention management. Through fundraising partnerships, members are provided hands-on experiences related to planning and executing meetings and events. Community service activities and chapter educational events provide important development of networking skills. Membership is open, without discrimination, to all Hospitality, Tourism, Meeting, or Convention Management (major, minor, or graduate) students who are attending full-time and are in good standing.

Hospitality Management Student Association (HMSA)

The mission of the HMSA is to help create meaningful experiences for students interested in hospitality management through shared knowledge, events, and industry awareness. This association is open to anyone at Ferris State University that is majoring, minoring, and/or working towards a certificate within the Sports, Entertainment and Hospitality Management Department.

There are no dues of any kind.
