PGM Staff Receive Honors Program Award

February 22, 2012

Annette Keyt and Diane Maguire, of the Professional Golf Management Center, were the first recipients of the “Outstanding Support Staff” award from the Honors program.

Typically, the Honors program gives an award to faculty. However, Keyt and Maguire had been nominated several times; when they were nominated again this year, they were chosen as recipients.

Keyt helps students with academics while Maguire helps place PGM students in internships.

“It was very thoughtful of them to nominate us,” said Maguire. “You see the purpose in your job and that you are really making a difference in a student’s life. A lot of the times, you don’t realize that.”

Each plaque included quotes from students on why Keyt and Maguire deserved to have the award.

“I literally was motivated to earn a 4.0 GPA last semester so that I could attend the Honors Awards ceremony in order to nominate Diane Maguire and excellent co-worker Annette Keyt,” said a student.

Another student said, “Annette is the glue which holds everything together,” while another mentioned that “Diane has had more of an impact on my growth as a student and individual throughout my four years than any other student or professor.”
