PGA Golf Management students place third in nationally recognized PGA tournament

The Ferris State University PGA Golf Management program placed third in the 14th annual PGA Jones Cup. The tournament took place on Nov. 3-4 at the PGA Golf Club, Wanamaker Course in Port Lucie, Fla.
The PGA Jones Cup is a two-day, 36-hole National Championship golf tournament open to university golf management programs accredited by the PGA of America. Essentially, Jones Cup participants are America’s premiere aspiring PGA professionals. Teams consisted of five PGA Golf Management students from each PGA Golf Management university program. A total of 19 universities participated.
The five participants who represented Ferris State University include: Justin Haase, Marc Hulsether, Ryan Laughlin, Matt LeGault, and Tyler Nunn.
Also in attendance were Aaron Waltz, director of Ferris State’s PGA Golf Management program, and Ian Ziska, head golf professional at Ferris State’s Katke Golf Course.
After playing 36 holes, the team’s total strokes were 590—15 strokes shy of first place New Mexico State University.
All participants showcased their talents respectively. Individual scores include: Nunn with 144 strokes, Laughlin with 145 strokes, LeGault with 150 strokes, Hulsether with 151 strokes, and Haase with 158 strokes.
