Information Security & Intelligence Program Hosts Spring 2018 Cyber Competition

The Information Security & Intelligence program hosted 70 high school students from 10 school districts to compete in a cyber competition on the Ferris State University Big Rapids campus on March 5, 2018.

Students participated in this inaugural competition where they were introduced to the field of Cybersecurity through an interactive learning experience and a Digital Forensics Capture the Flag competition.

The Cyber Competition was sponsored by a grant from the National Security Agency (NSA). The grant also includes establishing a dedicated Cyber Competition Center at Ferris State University, where a variety of competitions are planned in penetration testing/defense (red team/blue team), digital forensics, data analytics and cryptography.

The Information Security and Intelligence program is ranked among the top 25 cyber security programs nationally, preparing students for careers in computer forensics, cyber security, data analytics/big data, incident response, and mobile security.
