Information Security and Intelligence Recognized by NSA

May 20, 2015

The National Security Agency (NSA) and the Department of Homeland Security have designated Ferris State University as a National Center of Academic Excellence in Cyber Defense Education. This designation, in effect through academic year 2020, means that the Ferris Information Security and Intelligence program meets all of the knowledge unit areas necessary for a robust Information Security/Information Assurance program, as defined by the NSA. This applies to both the Bachelor and the Master of Science degrees offered at Ferris. Being recognized for this speaks volumes about the capabilities of the program in teaching students the skills necessary to protect the National Information Infrastructure. In recognition of this accomplishment, the ISI department leaders will receive a certificate at a formal ceremony in June 2015.
