October 7, 2016

Six students from the Risk Management and Insurance and Actuarial Science programs traveled with Dr. Brown to Columbus, Ohio for the 45th Annual Gamma Iota Sigma International Conference, Sept. 29 through Oct. 2nd.

While at the conference, students enjoyed a social event hosted by Gamma Iota Sigma at the Columbus Zoo, heard from several industry keynote speakers, attended several educational sessions, and interacted with students and faculty from 40 other colleges and universities.

“If it weren’t for our fraternity, I don’t know what my experience here at Ferris would be like,” said Co-President, Morgan Wiard. “It has been so helpful, and it has given me so many opportunities to help my future and be a part of something beyond myself.”

Gamma Iota Sigma is the professional fraternity for Risk Management and Insurance, Actuarial Science, and Finance majors. The organization has nearly 60 active chapters throughout North America, with more recently approved for chartering.

The student attendees included; Nathan Nelson, Alex Gullickson, Morgan Wiard, James Freid, Micah Hobson, and Trevor Heilman.
