Professor Hu teaches graphic design, web design and web animation. His prior teaching job was in the Visual Communication Design program in the Department of Art at the University of Indianapolis. Before beginning his teaching career, professor Hu had more than ten years professional experience in several design firms as a graphic designer and web designer. His teaching and research interests include visual communication design, contemporary arts, and cutting edge design software.
While holding a full-time teaching position at the university, he has done a lot of freelancing design work in his spare time. He also led several groups of American students to China for the past three years. Those trips have opened the students’ eyes and mind, and helped them to fit into this globalizing business environment after they graduated. Professor Hu came to Ferris State University in 2007.
