Financial Aid for Study Abroad Programs

Eligible Study Abroad Programs are treated the same as on-campus programs with respect to financial aid.

Enrollment in a Study Abroad program that is approved for credit by Ferris State University, may be considered enrollment at FSU for purposes of applying for federal student financial aid.

Many Study Abroad programs take place during Summer semester. Students who have received all of their annual federal financial aid eligibility during fall and Spring semesters may not have enough aid left to cover their Study Abroad program expenses in the Summer. These students may need to seek alternative payment arrangements such as alternative loan options or out of pocket payments to cover their charges.
