Health Information Management
Bachelor of Science

As the health care industry continues to grow and expand, demand for health information managers will increase. Employment is expected to grow faster than average through the year 2020 because of rapid changes in health care regulations that require individuals skilled in the interpretation of health data. Individuals with an interest in computers, health care and business will find that health information management is a challenging and fulfilling career option. Health Information Managers may be employed in hospitals, but job growth is projected to be the greatest in physician’s offices and clinics, nursing homes and home health agencies.

The Health Information Management degree at Ferris State University is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs in collaboration with the American Health Information Management Association. At the end of the program, students will be eligible to apply to write the national certification examination to earn the designation of Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA).

*Courses in this program are predominantly offered online.  However, some courses may be delivered in a mixed or face-to-face format.
