Marty Bledsoe is responsible for the overall administration and planning of the Department of Public Safety including police services, crime prevention, parking, traffic control and other public safety activities. He is a graduate of the FBI National Academy and is serving as the past-president of the Michigan Chapter of the Academy. He is also a member of the International and Michigan Associations of Chiefs of Police and the International and Michigan Associations of Campus Law Enforcement Administrators.

This follows a law enforcement career of 30 years with the Farmington Hills Police Department where MJ Bledsoe retired as Assistant Chief of Police in 2003.
