The Public Relations Student Society of America chapter at Ferris State University
is preparing to host its biggest fundraising event of the year, Za Best of Za Best,
once again. This will be the chapter's third annual pizza-tasting competition fundraiser,
and will help support both the chapter and their philanthropy, Angels of Action.
Students, faculty, staff and all members of the Big Rapids community are welcome to attend the event. It will be held on Thursday, Sept. 29 from 5 to 7 p.m. in the Interdisciplinary Resource Center Connector on the main campus in Big Rapids. The event will include gift card giveaways, games, DJ entertainment from Ferris student Austin Felt, six different pizza vendors, and an information table for Angels of Action.
"We've been working since the beginning of summer on this event. It's so important for both our chapter and Angels of Action, so we're doing everything we can to make sure it's the best it can be,” said Lina Lintemuth, PRSSA’s vice president of Social Affairs. “From acquiring new vendors to trying new forms of promotion, we hope to make this our biggest event yet."
The two-time winner Jet's Pizza returns for this year’s event. It will be joined by Pizza Hut, The Rock and Lucky Louie's. Two new vendors, The Gate and Cranker's Restaurant and Brewery, will join Za Best of Za Best this year.
PRSSA is in its second year of partnership with Angels of Action, a nonprofit organization that helps children in the Big Rapids community by providing them with food and other necessities. The proceeds from the fundraiser will be divided between Ferris PRSSA and Angels of Action.
