More than 280 businesses and organizations will visit Ferris State University as part
of Career Week, organized by the Center for Leadership, Activities and Career Services.
Career Week begins on Monday, March 23 and runs through Friday, March 27.
In addition to a large-scale Career and Internship Fair on Thursday, March 26 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Ewigleben Sports Complex, Career Week also includes a Business Etiquette Dinner on Monday, March 23; and a Career Fair Take 1 preparation workshop and a Community Town Hall Expo on Wednesday, March 25.
“Students, alumni and community members will have the opportunity to learn about a broad spectrum of opportunities, network with employers and polish their skills as they seek opportunities for internships, employment and service to the community,” said Michele Albright, coordinator of career and volunteer centers.
One of the highlights of the week is the Career and Internship Fair. More than 240 employer groups will be present to seek out quality applicants for available employment opportunities in business, education, health care, sciences and technology. Students and alumni from neighboring colleges and universities are welcome to attend. Professional dress attire is required and candidates should bring several copies of their résumés.
A Town Hall Expo takes place on Wednesday, March 25 from 5 to 8 p.m. in the University Center. Nearly 40 nonprofit agencies will be present to promote their volunteer and service learning opportunities, internships and current employment opportunities. All community members, faculty, staff and students with an interest in philanthropy or service occupations are encouraged to attend.

Monday, March 23
Etiquette Dinner
6 p.m., in the University Center Multipurpose Room, 202 A and B. This event is facilitated
by Hospitality faculty member Amy Dorey and instructor Karyn Kiio. Pre-registration
through OrgSync is required. The registration fee is $5.
Wednesday, March 25
Town Hall Volunteer and Job Expo
5 to 8 p.m., in the University Center Multipurpose Room, 202C. Nonprofit agencies and community organizations will be in attendance to promote their opportunities for students, staff and community to become involved with them through volunteerism, service learning and employment.
Career Fair Take 1
6 to 8 p.m., in the University Center Founder’s Room. Career Fair Take 1 allows students
to experience a simulated career fair to learn proper Career Fair navigation. David
Gignac from BuhlerPrince, Inc. will be the guest presenter. This session is designed
to gather tips and create a strategy for the Career Fair. Participants will receive
an early look at employers and pizza will be provided.
Thursday, March 26
Career and Internship Fair
11 a.m. until 3 p.m., in the Ewigleben Sports Complex
* Scheduled interviews, 4 to 9 p.m. Students must have attended the Career and Internship
Fair to receive an interview.
Friday, March 27
* Scheduled interviews, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Students must have attended the Career
and Internship Fair to receive an interview.
