Alumnus Bona Named President-Elect of Northland Community and Technical College

EAST GRAND FORKS, Minn. – Ferris State University alumnus Dennis Bona has been named president-elect of Minnesota-based Northland Community and Technical College. The announcement was made by the Minnesota State Colleges and Universities Board of Trustees on Wednesday, March 18.

Bona was introduced, as president-elect, on Thursday, March 19 in East Grand Forks, Minn.

Currently the president of Kellogg Community College in Battle Creek, Mich., since 2010, Bona will assume his duties, as president, on July 1. He will replace the current NCTC president, Anne Temte, who has announced her retirement.

Bona holds an Associate in Applied Science in Welding Engineering Technology, earned in 1978, and a Bachelor of Science in Technical education, earned in 1979, from Ferris. He later earned master’s and doctorate degrees from Western Michigan University.

Prior to becoming president of KCC, he had served the college as dean of Career and Occupational Education, director of the Regional Manufacturing and Technology Center, Director of Trades and Technology and as instructional manager of Industrial Welding. He has also previously served as an adjunct faculty member at Michigan State University and WMU.
