Erin Scott Named Grant and Contract Officer in the Office of Academic Research

Erin ScottErin Scott joined Ferris State University as a grant and contract officer in the Office of Academic Research this summer. Scott will be working with faculty and staff on pre-award grants and sponsored (external) funding.

A Certified Research Administrator, Scott comes to Ferris with a background in grant administration, including funding searches, proposal and budget development, grant editing, post-award financial management, and compliance. Most recently, she worked as an independent contractor providing grant expertise to Ohio Northern University’s College of Pharmacy and Academic Affairs, The Ohio State University’s College of Public Health and local K-12 schools.

Scott has extensive higher education experience in assisting faculty and staff with the entire research grant process. She was a senior sponsored program officer at Ohio State's Research Foundation, a grant administrator at the University of Cincinnati and a grant assistant at the University of Denver. Scott earned both a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and an Associate of Arts from Ohio State.

Her husband, Brett Scott, is employed at Ferris as an advancement officer in University Advancement and Marketing.

Scott’s knowledge and experience will be an asset to the university. Her office is located in the College of Pharmacy 312A at (231) 591-2547 or x2547 on campus.
