Homecoming 2014 Motown Mixer Event Sets Platform for Alumni-Student Networking Edit

Motown MixerAs Ferris State University looks forward to opportunities to “Get Down with Motown,” during this fall’s homecoming celebration, one particular event promises a platform for current students and alumni to engage in networking.

The Motown Mixer is scheduled for Friday, Oct. 3 from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Granger Center Atrium. The event is co-sponsored by the Alumni Association and the Center for Leadership Activities and Career Services.

“The Motown Mixer is an opportunity for our alumni, who are eager to share valuable insight and experiences regarding current industry and workforce trends, to connect with our current students,” said Jeremy Mishler, director of Alumni Relations. “We believe this will be a valuable event for our students, particularly for career exploration knowledge, and for our alumni, who want to stay connected with the university and help our current students.”

The event will include free appetizers, door prizes and lots of Motown music. All current students are invited and encouraged to dress in the required business attire and attend this free professional networking event.

“This will be a fabulous opportunity for students to make connections with industry leaders who are eager to share their experiences after graduating from Ferris,” said Mickey Albright, coordinator of Student Career Services. “We will have a wide range of industries represented at this event. We encourage all students, who are interested in exploring different occupations and learning about Ferris alumni who are paving the way for success, to attend this event.”
