This Week at Ferris (March 3)

Ferris State UniversityThe month of March is upon us and Ferris State University will be celebrating Women’s History Month beginning March 3.

Monday March 3

Women’s History Month kicks off with displays, banners and events on campus.

Tuesday March 4

11 a.m. to 12 p.m., BUS 219 – Hometown Recruiting Information Session

11 a.m. to 12 p.m., IRC Connector – Your Stories of Women: Video Screenings

Members of the Ferris community are encouraged to come and share their personal stories or other stories on how women have impacted their lives through video, or through writing.

Wednesday March 5

Ferris Pride Day

Students are encouraged to participate in Ferris Pride day by wearing their Ferris Pride button and/or Ferris clothing or insignia. While wearing you Ferris pride button you will receive a 20-percent discount at Barnes and Noble on one item of Ferris apparel. Buttons may be found at Timme Center, Barnes and Noble, and other locations around campus.

8 p.m., Williams Auditorium – Jazz Band Concert

Thursday March 6

7 to 9 p.m., The Rock Café – The Speedbumps at the Rock

Come and enjoy music from the award-winning band, The Speedbumps, from Ohio.

Friday March 7

7 p.m., Wink Arena – Hockey hosts Lake Superior

Saturday March 8

7 p.m., Wink Arena – Hockey hosts Lake Superior

7 p.m., City Hall – The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert

The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert is a movie that looks at the relationships of two drag queens and a transsexual who get a cabaret gig in the middle of the Australian Outback. This movie is rated R and is free and open to the public.
