The Western Collegiate Hockey Association Tournament is fast approaching, and Ferris State University is encouraging fans to showcase their hockey spirit using social media.
The university will be awarding 
various prizes to students through a social media campaign that involves, primarily,
Instagram and Twitter.
This social media campaign is designed to encourage student engagement with the WCHA and Ferris during the end of the regular season and throughout the WCHA Tournament. The first round of the tournament takes place March 14-16 while the WCHA Championships, at Van Andel Arena in Grand Rapids, is scheduled for March 20-22.
The list of contests are listed below:
March 7-8:
Instagram: Ferris Hockey Selfie Fan Pride Photo. Take a picture of yourself at the
home Ferris hockey games against Lake Superior State University (March 7-8), and post
them on Instagram. Participants must tag @ferrisstateu and use #WCHA to be eligible
to win prizes. The giveaways will be gift packages and winners will be announced Monday,
March 10. Prizes can be picked up on Monday, March 17, after spring break.- Twitter: Share something about your Ferris hockey experience on Twitter during the (March 7-8) Lake Superior series. Participants must tag @FerrisState and use #WCHA to be eligible to win prizes. The giveaways will be gift packages and winners will be announced Monday, March 10. Prizes can be picked up on Monday, March 17, after spring break.
March 14-16:
- Instagram: Ferris Hockey Selfie Fan Pride Photo. Take a picture showing Bulldog and Ferris pride at the WCHA Tournament, First Round. Participants must tag @ferrisstateu and use #WCHA. Multiple prizes will be awarded.
Week of March 17:
- Twitter: tweet a fact or thought about Ferris hockey alumnus and National Hockey League star Chris Kunitz. Participants can tweet to enter to win a Chris Kunitz Pittsburgh Penguins jersey. Tag @FerrisState and add hashtag #WCHA.
- *NEW* Instagram: Ferris Hockey Selfie Fan Pride Photo. Take a picture showing Bulldog and Ferris pride at the WCHA Final Five Championships at Van Andel Arena in Grand Rapids. Participants must tag @ferrisstateu and use #WCHA. Multiple prizes will be awarded to our winners. To see winners from previous weeks, click here.
Ferris-branded prizes that could be won, include: hood sweatshirts, pullovers, scarves, hats, T-shirts, backpacks, duffel bags and more.
Photos may be used by Ferris social media platforms, with credit granted.
