Hospitality Management Hosts Eta Sigma Delta Honor Society Induction Ceremony

Ferris State University College of BusinessEight distinguished Ferris State University Hospitality Management majors were inducted into the Eta Sigma Delta International Hospitality Management Honor Society during a ceremony hosted in Big Rapids on Tuesday, Jan. 28.

The eight inductees were:
 

  • Kelsey Beson of Pinconning
  • Courtney Bingham of Marquette
  • Erika Brinks of Cadillac
  • Sarah Comstock of Greenville
  • Neil Haney of Manton
  • Timothy Mulligan of Allenton
  • Breanna Schmanski of Alpena
  • Tayler Seroke of South Haven 

The ceremony’s keynote speaker was Jim Holton, chairman of the Michigan Restaurant Association. Holton, who is also owner of the Mountain Town Station Brewing Company and Steakhouse, Camille’s on the River, the Mt. Pleasant Brewing Company and the Alma Brewing Company, addressed the inductees and their guests. Holton shared his personal story of entrepreneurial success in hospitality and in the restaurant industry.

Qualifications for induction into the ESD IHMS include a grade point average of 3.0 or higher, junior-level status or higher and an agreement to uphold the values of creativity, ethics, excellence, leadership and service.
