Office of Multicultural Student Services Hosts Women's History Month Celebration

March serves as the platform to celebrate Women’s History Month at Ferris State University. Ferris’ celebration commences on Monday, March 3 and runs through Monday, March 31. This year’s theme is “Global Women: A Focus on Diverse Roles of Women in Society.”

Two events will run throughout the month’s celebration. The Women in the Workforce display case will be featured in the Ferris Library for Information Technology and Education (FLITE) and Williams Auditorium. The display panels will highlight images of “Women Workers in Society” while the Williams display focuses on “Gender Norming” and will include items from the Ferris Women’s Collection. The Global Woman banner display will be featured in the IRC Connector. The event features a series of theme-based banner displays. “U.S. Women’s Rights” is a timeline spotlighting some notable individuals and dates. The other is “A Day in the Life” for profiles of current Ferris students from Africa, East Asia, Europe, Latin America, the Middle East and South Asia.

While events will focus on women in history, men are encouraged to attend and participate in the events and dialogue concerning the women in their lives, said Amber Kneibel, assistant director for the Center for Leadership, Activities and Career Services.
