This Week at Ferris (Feb. 10)

Ferris State UniversityBeginning Monday, Feb. 10, Ferris State University’s Center for Leadership, Activities and Career Services will be hosting Career Week events on the Big Rapids campus. The week includes guest speakers, seminars and a Career Fair. In addition to Career Week, Ferris will be hosting a number of other events with guest speakers as well as events that feature the efforts of student organizations.

And, by the way, don’t forget Valentine’s Day on Friday, Feb. 14.

Below are a few newsworthy events for the week of Feb. 10:

Monday Feb. 10

Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. Week

10 a.m., FLITE 110 – Atomic Learning

7 p.m., IRC 120 – “Being In Demand” Bill VanSteenis

Come learn what it takes to start you career and be on your way to success! The first 50 attendees will receive a free copy of his book!

7:30 p.m., BUS 111 – Make a Difference! Dr. Paul Hernandez

Come hear Dr. Hernandez tell his inspiring story of living on the streets of Los Angeles to earning multiple college degrees!

Tuesday Feb. 11

6 p.m., IRC 120 – “Setting Your Own Bar” Senita Lenear

7-8:30 p.m., BUS 111 – Sports Speaker Series – Gil Bransford

This program is free and open to the public.

Wednesday Feb. 12

2 p.m., College of Business Room 111 – Career Week: Alumni Panel Discussion

7 p.m., IRC, Room 115 – Black History Month Celebration – Do You Know Your History?

Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. Zeta Epsilon chapter will be presenting a Black History Game Show titled "Do You Know Your History?"

Thursday Feb. 13

Last day to “W” – Partial Semester A

11 a.m., Career and Internship Fair

7 p.m., First United Methodist Church - An Evening Song with Courtney Gilson Piercey and Friends

Friday Feb. 14

Valentine’s Day

7 p.m., Williams Auditorium – Silk Road Acrobats: Arts and Lecture Series

The show is a high energy, tinged with danger, action-packed never-to-be-forgotten extravaganza that has audiences of all ages at the edge of their seats.

Saturday Feb. 15

10 a.m., FSU Racquet and Fitness Center – Men’s Tennis Hosts Olivet Nazarene

3 p.m., FSU Racquet and Fitness Center – Women’s Tennis Hosts Olivet Nazarene
