Student Organization B.L.A.C.K. Hosts Black History `The Untold Story'

Black Leaders Aspiring for Critical Knowledge (B.L.A.C.K.), a Ferris State University student organization, is hosting its February Critical Knowledge event, Black History: “The Untold Story” on Tuesday, Feb. 18 beginning at 7 p.m. in IRC, Room 120.

Umar Johnson, a renowned speaker and psychologist, will discuss the topics of the mis-education of African American history and the roles of black males in the family structure.

Johnson is a certified school psychologist who practices privately in Pennsylvania and lectures nationwide. He is considered a national expert on learning disabilities and their effects on black children. He also is well-versed in helping schools and parents modify the challenging behaviors of children that can lead to disruptive behavior disorder diagnoses in black male children.
