Three students from Ferris State University’s Hospitality Management program were awarded Kent County Lodging Association scholarships.
Eligible scholarship students must be enrolled in a Hospitality program, have a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or better, be in their second year of the program and have earned a minimum 500 hours of practical on-the-job experience in their field of study.
This year’s Ferris recipients are Mathew Dyksterhouse, of Sheboygan, Wis. He is a dual major in Professional Golf Management and Resort Management. He is pursuing a minor in Club Management. Danielle Murphy, of Lansing, is majoring in Resort Management with a minor in Special Events and Meeting Planning and Club Management. Laura D’artanay, of Pureto Ordaz, Venezuela, is majoring in Hotel Management and pursuing a minor in Special Events and Meeting Planning.
The scholarships will be awarded during the KLCA’s April meeting on Thursday, April 17 in Grand Rapids.
