Siena Digital Donates Equipment to Ferris School of Digital Media

Ferris State UniversityFerris State University’s School of Digital Media received an in-kind donation from Siena Digital.

The December donation awarded by Siena Digital included valuable studio lighting, C-stands, curtain and rails, two AVID DS edit suites, six wireless microphone studio packs, equipment racks, DigiBeta Deck, distribution amplifiers, battery backup power supply and serial digital audio patch bay.

Glen Okonoski, School of Digital Media chair and an associate professor in Television and Digital Media Production, expressed positive feelings related to the donation received from Siena Digital.

“We are very excited in particular about the wireless microphones for use in our studio, the new lighting and grip equipment and furniture, in addition to the power cable extensions we received,” he said. “Although they are not flashy, the power cable extensions are expensive and very valuable to us for lighting.”

Okonoski added that many of the items are already in use as education tools for School of Digital Media students.

School of Digital Media programs are designed for students who want to be creative storytellers. The school boasts programs that are unique, state-of-the-art and forward thinking. The school includes Digital Animation and Game Design, Digital Media Software Engineering and TDMP. In addition, the school offers a Pre Digital Media associate degree.
